About

My interest in art and writing has accompanied me since I can think of. At the beginning of my deeper occupation with art I have done an apprentice-ship as stone mason/sculptor after finishing school, and this persistent work of setting free shapes has influenced my way of working even though I have left behind stone as a medium and use whatever a project suggests. Many people suppose that working with stone involves a lot of power, but actually it is a lenghty process of rythm and endurance.

In one of my recent works, haufenweise (in heaps)I have dived into language, when I collected German words ending in -los (in English -less; the words define a loss or the absence of something). At the same time the noun Los is meaning Go!, lot, fortune. I have collected around 130 Germany words ending in -los and got raffle lots manufactured with the words printed on them; here the absence of something becomes the fortune.

Another project The clouds 200 years ago was a series of drawings on porcelain; here drawings and etchings by Alexander Cozens and Constable, where they tried to show cloud formations before they were classified by Luke Howard were copied in drawings on porcelain tiles.
